Stratch your fingernails across a bar of soap before you head out. The soap will get embedded firstand make clean-up afterwards easier"

Linda points out that this might not be a permanent fix with hands working in water, but I also wonder if the soap trick would help AFTER the mudflat...

Thanks Linda!Emily Grasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11020606406840695625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7790524734789710161.post-30151169484147042682012-08-07T17:49:22.743-07:002012-08-07T17:49:22.743-07:00Oh Em G, I am so behind on my Rah Rah Radula readi...Oh Em G, I am so behind on my Rah Rah Radula reading. I really enjoyed this in-depth look at decaying nail polish. You actually make a lovely hand model, gashes and band-aids (or "plasters," for all your UK readers!) and all. I also appreciated the different backgrounds of each photo.

Speaking of which, I once watched a special on hand models. They wear protective gloves ALL the time, and on BOTH hands. And there are apparently flattering hand angles that best showcase the merchandise.

So what I'm pretty much trying to say is: if the merchandise these hands are showcasing is Science, then sign me up. I am sold.jhkayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04423807018173617995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7790524734789710161.post-75285772895701251622012-08-02T21:59:50.394-07:002012-08-02T21:59:50.394-07:001. Yes, I try to keep my audience broad, you never know who might want to be a marine biologist deep down, and I am here to warn them that it is not all fun and games. There are serious manicurical consequences to this lifestyle!

2. If I thought that anyone actually read my blog, I guess I would be more thoughtful about brand names, but no one (excepting of, course, lovely present commenters) does, and so I'm not. I aim to provide the details necessary to get a really visceral sense of what it's like out there. If Disney Princess Band Aids does it, then so be it.

3. My right hand looks like it belongs on a withered old lady, and I've never even been to a mudflat. Now I wear gloves when I'm gettin' rugged outside.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7790524734789710161.post-19773121586435238742012-07-26T23:22:02.389-07:002012-07-26T23:22:02.389-07:001) I love that you tagged this post with Disney Pr...1) I love that you tagged this post with Disney Princess Band Aids.
2) You you try to avoid or try to embrace using brand names like Kleenex and Band Aid, or are you neutral?
3) This post made me laugh loudly, then I had to explain the awesomeness that about which I was laughing, then I watched the Polly-O commercial.
4) Bellissimo!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01418520645894206187noreply@blogger.com
